The sleeve thing makes me laugh cause I used to use the bicept part of a old sweat shirt for a neck roll.

My suggestion.
Upper body
Layer 1
UA cold gear, it really does kick ass.
Layer 2
Cotton T shirt
Layer 3
Sweatshirt
Layer 4
whatever jacket you wear

Lower body
Layer 1
UA Cold gear
Layer 2
Some sort of windproof insulated sweat pant

Add some decent gloves, A hat, and a neck gator, and you will be set.

I can't believe how good the cold gear works, and the crazy thing is, you can wear it in the summer too, and it will still keep you cool (i wear mine under my leathers.)

You want your innermost layer to be a breathable synthetic material with a very small amount of airspace between it and your skin. Then an outer layer should have airspace between it and the inner layer and be breatheable but windproof, and snug at the ankles, neck and wrists. You'll have to work pretty hard to keep warm but you'll get a hell of a workout.
When and where were you in ND??

I wear Under Armour when I run outside and love it. I just bought another top a week or so ago because it was on clearance, and the stuff never goes on sale!

You still have to layer depending on how cold it is, but it's a great base layer.

Treadmills are OK, but there is nothing like seeing the early morning snow on a run. It's absolutely amazing. Plus you end up seeing things you never noticed before when you go flying by in your car or on your bike.

UA has a clearance section on there web site.

My Yamaha neck roll is to warm some time that why I also have a sweat shit sleeve that I use. I like to wear them over my ears also with out covering the top of my head. If I cover my head while working out I get way to hot.
