It's amazing to see how (comparatively) poor the returns were if you had made any purchases in '08.

I'm not sure if it's still the case, but the Apple retail store revenue per square foot used to be the highest of any retail store in the US. I think Tiffany was next highest, and fairly significantly less.

I try not to think about what those Apple shares I used to have would be worth now. It gets depressing.

I tried to buy Apple stock in 1997 but I was 15 years old and only had $200. The guy at the brokerage I went to practically laughed at me.

Back in those days, the annual account fee would have been about the same amount
