my grandmothers stuffing, and her gravy, and her desserts. mmmmm.... She's 92 and had 17 kids, she really learned to cook somewhere along the way.

CBRchick... when I lived in Texas I celebrated both, I would cook a turkey on Canadian Thanksgiving, which always coincided with a holiday ( columbus day?) and invite friends over. If I had a day off here I would cook a turkey for American turkey day.. any excuse for turkey sandwiches!

Stuffing that is cooked in a pan, in the oven, and NOT in the turkey = awesomeness.

Agreed on all accounts except the pecan pie.. I don't think I like that.

Stuffing that's crunchy on top from being thrown in the oven for a bit is damn good.

My mother in law made ground cherry pie. The ground cherries were picked right at the farm and the crust was homemade

I like it all. Sweet potato casserole - my sister-in-law made a great one this Thanksgiving. My mother-in-law makes great homemade stuffing. Father-in-law makes a mean turkey on the grill. I make some kick-ass mashed potatoes and homemade gravy.
