well it's kinda a hybrid IMO, a strut bolts up to the hub assembly

miata's don't.

You can make either shocks or struts into coilovers........But a strut has a mounting bracket on the side that serves as one of the suspensions' hardpoints.......Shocks don't, they simply bolt up on the top and bottom.

I always loved the lines of the 3rd generation RX7 and that is a beautiful car.
I admire the work, but have to confess I lover Rotary's I would love at some point t get my hands on a 20b put a supercharger on it and stuff it into a mid-engine rig.
