either fucking way i want to ride today, and god damn if its not 45 degrees and prolly about to start snowing. The rider in me 3 years ago would have said fuck it im riding as long as lava isnt falling from the heavens... i wish i had his naivety about riding. u know what this means, right? i'll have to winterize this sunovabitch soon. fuck that. |

Its in the low 50s in my area right now and I was just out running errands on the bike. It honestly wasnt that cold out. Definitely not looking forward to winterizing it in the next few weeks or month.

I just go. If I feel like riding i just gear up and go. Double check tire pressure, wait until she is fully warmed up. Make sure you have the gear...I remember times where I layered up with clothes, thermals, 3 t Shirts and just went. Even if I couldn't go full out (or even 55mph) or if I had to come home after 15 miles, I just go!

That's the conundrum. Cold weather = faster bike, but also = cold rider and tires.
Anyone else really notice a difference in throttle response and power throughout the rev range when it's 50 as opposed to say 75? It's like night and day for me.

That's cause Vespas are partial to air density! HA!

Oh hell yeah.... that first really nice, cool day in fall/early winter, the first good goose of the throttle (even on my old beast of a bike), it's like "WHOAH!!! Happy bike!"

Yes, on cooler days I need to be extra careful in 1st and 2nd or I'll be doing 12 o'clock in the blink of an eye. When I get above 6500(when the SET valve opens) it wants to break loose like an out of control bull.
