LF Corrosion Resistant Chain

Is there a brand or type of chain thats more resistant to corrosion than others? I live near the beach and have to keep my bike outside and I usually need to replace chains before their time because they corrode and develop kinks that cant be loosened. Im going to order a new chain soon, anybody have a recommendation?

keep it oiled more than usual?

I was thinking a nice thick coat of chain wax

The Brits usually swear by a Scottoiler system for good chain life in corrosive conditions. If you ride pretty regularly it may help. If the bike sits for extended periods it may not. As for the chain itself, in those conditions if it is made out of metal it will corrode early. Keeping it clean and well lubed are about the only things I know of that will help.

maintain it and you have nothing to worry about, my cbarrr chain looked brand new at 12000 miles when I sold it

I use dupont teflon spray. If you spray a lot on and dont ride for an hour or so, itll dry to a wax. You can do multiple coats.

I don't see any beaches in Tenn.

Chain Wax it...but seriously chains are not that expensive.

Yeah, the salt mist that we get when the winds are on-shore really accelerates the rusting.

looks-wise the powder coated/ chrome chains from EK do really well as the plates are covered inside and out but it's still very important that the rollers stay lubed. I also recommend the Teflon chain wax.
