You break the law, you fail to follow the orders of the arresting officer, you pay the consequences. She made very clear that she thought she was above the law, and she was not going to do as he asked, well, she suffered the consequences.

And AGAIN, she was 72 years old, as she made VERY CLEAR. Bubba is a big boy. If he'd grabbed her and slammed her down to cuff her as you see in police vids, he'd have broken her arm or hip.
This is all I'm really trying to say....

but there is plenty of potential for topic creep...

Should the women have been tasered?
No

The use of the Taser in this situation was inappropriate and reflects poorly on the officer and the departments training regimen. This isn't a reflection on taser use overall, this is based on the video.

Based on the physical difference between the officer and the women, the actions of the women and the environment portrayed in the dash cam, there is no evidence to suggest that physical force could not be efficiently used to subdue the women. A 130lb ninny in the academy should be able to subdue that women effectively using two hands within 5 seconds.

Departments have plenty of leeway on implementation of taser guidelines but from what I can see the shittier and more corrupt the department the more happy they are to zap somebody.

What's the big deal about signing a ticket? I mean from either side? It seems silly to me.

Zapping, then jail.

no sympathy here....while everyone can argue all day long the cop broke no law and the woman DID. Anyone that antagonizes a cop on the side of a road is asking for trouble and don't whine when you get it.

You comply and take it up in court not on the side of a road, and being old does not excuse you for anything.

The two are unrelated.

One is law.
The other is technique.

Actually, physically pulling her hands and arms to cuff her is as big a risk for injury as tasing is. Ask Tommy how easy old people's bones break. Compound fracture when you twist it around good and hard because she's struggling?

And you're bullshit example of a cop demanding blowjobs is totally unrelated. This cop was asking her to move to a safe area, nothing wrong with that.

ALL the blame in this instance falls on the old bitch. Who cares if she got tased for it??? I'm not losing sleep over that trailer trash giving a cop a hard time.

Wow Eric! One video of her being stupid doesn't make someone's Mom, Grandma, sister, etc "trailer trash", a "dumb bitch", etc does it? I've seen video of you engaging in sexual deviancy, does that mean that you shouldn't be allowed around children or hold a job dealing with the general public? I agree that she made a foolish mistake and I also have a hard time feeling sorry for someone who sticks their hand in the dog kennel and gets bit but damn, that's pretty harsh.
