Guy did it to me last week on a triumph tiger with hard bags sticking out five feet wide. Nearly lost my mirrors

Remember, I've got Givi bags that make the ass end of my bike wider than a Kardassian.

If you lane split like that you're a douche who deserves to catch one on a rig

Eventually they will, at which point the local riding community will be all up in arms about those dangerous trucks

*EDIT* By the way, lane splitting isn't legal here.

Here's the video. Two splitters at the beginning and one at the end.
Did you shift to the right in order to block him, or because you were eventually going to change lanes? Kinda hard to tell since it's a solid line that continues for quite some time after that.

I was on the right, on the ramp, to block the cars that blow up the breakdown lane and then force their way in. It makes me more visible to them so they don't think that I'm an open space, and crush me when they move into it.

I was completely unaware of them, until a few seconds before I made my lane change. That's when I saw them, coming up behind me, and verified that they weren't accelerating to pass. Except that he did, after I checked. I stopped in the right side, of the lane I moved into, because I caught him coming up on me out of the corner of my eye. If I'd have kept going, I would have taken out his front wheel.

The camera is on my right mirror stem.

Oh, as I was coming up on the other ramp? Same principle. I block the side to which I want to be the most visible, and from which the greatest danger is likely to come. The more in their face I am, the less likely they are to mess with me.

And the lane splitter wasn't there, when I made my move to the right. He came up along the right of the other vehicles, after I moved over.
