Kind of my feeling on the matter.
I mean, ok, they're not going to hold up to a 65mph slide down the tarmac, but they're a protective layer and will prevent things like sunburn, windburn, strikes by stinging insects (and most insects sting at highway speed ), and road debris.

And Tigger is right, it's her choice.
Doesn't mean we have to agree with it.

Werd. Yeah jeans may not be the most protective item on earth, but they are the norm for most of us.

isn't it fun when they tell you that they don't want to tell you how to live your life but, seriously their way is the only way?

Sounds like our gear standards are pretty close there Tigger. I even take short hops without the lid now and then. Not more then a couple miles, my eyes don't like it.
jeans, jacket, lid, gloves, and boots works in most situations.

Thanks and yea, I don't know how they do it. I could not wear full leathers everywhere I go on the bike, it's just not gonna happen. I mean every time you go to the mall? Every quick hop to the store or Blockbuster? Up to Hooters for bike night to sit around, oogle waitresses and shoot the shit? Like I said, okay but I think that you are a little too paranoid! Heck, that would be like wearing condoms for your entire marriage. Sure it's possible she might still give you disease after 20 years but... I guess better safe than sorry.
