You were looking down at the dude who owns the Shelby. He can go out and buy an Aprilia that comes OEM auto, BTW. Lots of people don't want to deal with what they consider a hassle of a manual. A lot of the old timers and middle age folk that buy these cars, aren't going to see how fast they can make it to the pharmacy to pick up their hip medication. They buy them cause they look "cool" and remind them of their youth. There are a lot of reasons why auto is a perfectly acceptable choice (including the company that is making them will make a shit ton more money if they offer both.) Complaining about cars coming in both auto and manual is just plain dumb and you will always be in the wrong for that one. I am actually having a good day. |

That's pretty much calling anyone who chooses a muscle car with an auto a douche. Maybe not in so many words, but still... You can talk about how you don't understand the choice, without belittling it. And as a bonus, you can even stay on that high horse that way. |

This thread got angry!
I would never own a Chevy myself (oh shit, did I just start a fight?), but I really like the new Camaro's look. Very sharp! |

Hell, you can get more fun for a shitload cheaper/faster/better than a damn new gen Camaro, but it won't be as "pretty."
I am sure Avy knows what's up in this dept though.

Oh and some Euro cars are faster with no clutch pedal at all. Humans can't shift as fast as computers. Paddles FTW.

I've driven paddle shift cars, they're fun for the first few days, then it gets boring. Are they better than an automatic, yes, but they're still not the same as a stick.

They are still faster and have less power loss than a standard manual.

You're on crack. No auto is more efficient than a manual. At cruise, a manual has ZERO slip. Auto? Not so much, unless it has a lockup converter (which sucks). Remember; fluid coupler.

...And then, there's this:
http://www.twowheelfix.com/showpost....67&postcount=1 Again, it's the fun from the seat that matters. I had to move the C4 vette the other day, and decided to blow the cobwebs off. This is priceless for lowering stress and maintaining sanity for me.
