I dont do any touring...but I've got a small Joe Rocket tank bag to keep phone and wallet in. And I have a cargo net stuffed under my seat.

Ok with going on the indy trip this fall, I am going to need some sort of luggage, and I figure I may as well get quite a bit of storage, instead of just what I will need for the 3 day trip. I would really like to do a fair bit of touring within the next couple of years. I am looking at the Nelson Rigg CL-800 rear tote tail bag and CL-1000 saddle bags. (Linked at bottom of post) Has anybody else tried out the nelson rigg and what do you think of it? Also, what do you guys think for a tank bag? Should I go with a bigger one or a smaller one? Bigger would be able to hold more, but I don't know if it will feel like too much in front of me while I am trying to go down the highway.

Slightly more expensive than the Nelson stuff, but cross country proven and idiot proof. I think they are cheaper at Iron Pony too.

I found a few decent reviews, 1 unhappy dude...but cant find much else on them, and the price is better than on the others...which if your strapped for cash (like me right now) the price looks way better than nelson rigg or cortech...what ya'll think?

oh yeah, if you strap it right, a poncho over a back pack or tail bag works just fine in pouring rain for several hours...strapped on with cargo nets, but getting in and out is a pain...

the tail bag is small by itself to pack clothes in... but the tri-bag system is big enough for just about any trip you'd wanna take on a sport bike.

the only thing I dislike about them was the rain fly isn't permanently attached... and trying to secure it isn't confidence inspiring
