Started with 320, then 400, 600, 1200. I never wet polished or used any sort of compound. In my experience, if 1200 doesn't have it shining like a mirror, it's not going to shine. ![]() |

Thats fine if thats your style...but the results speak for themselves. Throw some polish on there.

If all goes according to plan, my next bike is going to be a thumper. I kinda think I'd like it quiet on the trails.

I like my stock pipe...mostly cause it doesn't stand out on th GSXr. It is loud at high RPM's but not at slow speeds. I don't want to piss off my neighbors more than I already have. I think they installed a random stopsign in my neighborhood because of me. Ruined a great chicane around the mailbox area. Lol

Depends on the bike I guess.
My Hayabusa still has the stock exhaust. I use that bike for touring, and I do not want to hear that drone on the highway for an 800 mile day. My TLR has a full titanium Yoshimura race system, and it sounds just right, albeit louder than I prefer for an around town bike. I don't ride it a *lot* these days, but it definitely gets heard when I do.. People 10 feet behind me don't like feeling the exhaust pulses either. LOL

V4s MUST have a pipe of some sort.
Twins, depends. Inlines I leave stock. Triples...again, pipe.

I think quietness is the main reason I still keep that piece of shit BMW. Even with aftermarket exhaust AND baffle out, it barely makes any sound. Nice to fire it up at 5 AM in the morning to go to work and have the neighbor not breaking out the machine gun.
