Haha, well in this case, two wrongs do make right.

The system lifts the helmet, while keeping the head in place... so in theory it shouldn't put any pressure on the spinal column.

Opposite, yes.

Equal, I'm not so sure. Unless you know the value of the helmet's resistance, vs. the downwards force of the bladder, equality can not be determined, and your hypothesis can not be proved.

So there.

I believe they offer an online course for EMT's. If it's free, I'll go take it and report back.
