That's what I was immediately thinking.
R1's were known for running on no oil and F'in cylinders up. But guess what, only when running wheelies for miles. Cause, the oil pick ups, faced forward in the oil pan. |

I think so. I was just stating another problem of a bike where the bike is blamed for it not "doing something correct" because against popular consensus it wasn't designed for stunting. Lol

Possibly. The weird thing though? I know of at least one other person with a 954 who wheelies the shit out of it and just beats on it in general...Trouble free as far as I know
I cant remember where the oil pick up was situated when I had mine out Anyway, I'm not saying these bikes ended up in this shape because they were so well taken care of. I always got a vibe from mine that it lead a pretty hard life before I owned it. The Mechanics I've talked to just seem to think they dont stand up to abuse, or even poor maintenance as well as others.

The oil pickup in the sump can be reversed so that it pulls from the rear of the sump where all the oil sits when the bike is on its rear wheel. It also helps because most suntahs overfill their oil by a quart or so to make sure there is enough in the sump.
