How about if you were at a movie theatre and the people in front of you already have a "feeder" line set up. Do you make your own line at one of the two available cashiers because you're a selfish tool? Or do you get in the existing line like everybody else?

That isn't even the same scenario the line is designed to be a feeder line. It doesn't matter though because my movie theater has all individual lines where everyone stands in their own. No one is debating the merits of a feeder-line system, we saying you can't just create on on the fly and expect others to follow suit.

Movie theater concesson lines around here are spaced 10-15ft apart. If you are trying to do a feeder line on that shit, yes I would go directly to one line while I sent another person to the other line to fuck ya'll shit up.

If you are talking ticket lines, they have a roped feeder system in place here, so it is set in stone as a feeder system.

Feeder systems are great if they are setup like that, if they aren't, it's not a feeder system, so deal with it.

That's some bs, but I'm not the least bit surprised. I've done the same, as long as there aren't long lines.

On a slightly related topic, just to show the idiocy of people and how they don't understand lines...

When I used to eat McDonald's, they had two drive-thru lanes side by side, although the lanes didn't split until about 4 cars back from the order point. Amazingly, the vast majority of people either didn't know about the outside lane, or blindly followed the guy behind them and stayed at the inside lane. There would be a line of 10-15 cars in the "feeder" lane. I'd pull around all of them and there were only 2 cars for the outside lane, but the guy at the front of the feeder would wait for the inside lane, as would everyone behind him, just like a bunch of lemmings. Invariably, 2 or 3 people would pull out of the feeder lane and follow me, but only AFTER they saw someone else go. I'm not waiting just because other people can't figure out what to do.

I see your point, but for me it's not about holding me up, it's about not making a decision.

I used to do this on one of the exit ramps when I'd go to school. I'd get way over to the left side of the single lane because I knew it would split into two.

Huh? He did make a decision, he decided to do the smart thing and wait for the line that opened up first.

Yup, and it seems that there was a tacit agreement from a couple of other drivers to do the same. That makes Miz Thang an arrogant, self absorbed piece of shit.

To me he didn't because there are two lines, so pick one and go. Fine if he wanted to sit there with no one behind him.

Then I guess I'm in the same category as this chick. I just wouldn't have turned my head the other way. I would have probably flipped him off and thought to myself what an asshole for thinking he is the only one in line...

As far as the other people following suit, probably is the same as what Capt said in his post about the 2 McD's lanes and no one would use the outside until he or someone else would.
