Not exactly cheap, but if anyone wants a good deal on the 65" Bravia I can get a good price on it.

Or any Sony for that matter. PM me if there's a specific model you're interested in for Christmas.

Okay. My gf and I stopped by best buy and saw some TV's we liked.

They had some Insignia's but there where 3 choices for 3 different prices. All 32" TVs

1 - 1080p, 60hz, 4500:1 contrast - $400
2 - 720p, 60hz, 6500:1 - $370
3 - 720p, 60hz, 4500:1 - $350

They were in boxes (kind of hidden too) and I don't recall seeing the lower priced one's on display so I can't compare them in person. But would contrast be more important or the 1080p? And honestly I'm not sure if we'll even get any HD channels when we get cable. But we'd probably get a Blu-ray player since Blockbuster seems to be converting everything to Bluray now (I just got a decent DVD collection).

Here is the 1080p but info is different online vs the box (no clue who to trust)

EDIT: Just saw this. Panasonic 720p 10,000:1 "dynamic" contrast ratio for $400

at 32" you would have to sit between 43"(THX standard) and 64"(SMPTE standard) away from the TV to notice a difference between 720P and 1080P, and that is if your vision is 20/20.

Get the one with the highest contrast ratio.

I dont go by contrast ratio cause every companies is different. One companies model 10,000:1 can be another companies 5,000:1.

Any contrast over I "think" 3,000 or something is a "fake" contrast. Some people like the really high contrast and some don't. It's what your eyes like.
