I was thinking a Karate Kid reference was going to go with " sweep the leg".

Actually if you look close, right about 2:10 or so he's putting the cuffs on the dude before he goes and gets the girl back over there, it's barely shown before the camera is back on the girl. When she got in his face, he tried to move her off to finish securing the dude with the baton, then maced her and went back to secure the dude who was complying at that time.

I am talking about way before 2:10. He hasn't even started cuffing the guy, and he abandons him for 10 seconds to start wailing on the girl.
