I wouldn't worry much about that motor/trans towing a small trailer - I mean, there are similar hitches designed for MiniCoopers that fit into the fog light on the bumper. I have a few customers that tow their bikes in with them... if a Mini can do it, surely a Mustang can.

My first car was a Nissan Pulsar with like 120k miles... the guy who owned it before me used to tow his Sea Doo every weekend with it. 1.6L was put to work, but no issues whatsoever...

I won't be getting that benefit with this set up! But I also don't have to drive a fricken truck the other 350 days a year that I don't need one. I happen to like my drop top and don't want to own two vehicles again so...hitch on a car ftw!

I knew a guy that would tow two bikes from Michigan to Daytona every year for Bike Week with an old as hell Chevette (no bs!)! I'm not worried but you can be sure that I'll be taking it easy the first couple trips!

Finished my trailer today. I bought a 4x8 at TSC without a floor, bought treated 4x6 at Home Depot and mounted my wheel chocks. I went with a forward/backward thing to balance it out. Tongue weight is 125 loaded so not too bad. I pulled it around town in heavy traffic and it did well. I am cautiously optimistic.
