trip arent there some cool waterfalls along rt 28. I remember something about 3 of them on a stretch down away from the gap

I got the waterfall route planned for either friday or saturday during the rally. Rather do it friday if everyone is there. This will be an all day ride though.

129 on the NC side to the rockslide on the TN side will reopen on monday. The TN section to get there will remain closed, so you can only get to it from NC.
They are setting up a gate. The road will be open from 8am to 8pm for sight seers/motorcycles/cars. RVs and commercial traffic will still be banned. This is a bad idea in my opinion. This is almost like a closed course. With the gated method, they can also set up a hidden outpost and rader you and radio to the gate to give you a ticket. |

I remember watching semi after semi head up 129 past the DGMR heading from NC to TN. I have no idea how they are able to make it through there.

They have two cops that are constantly moving that won't hestitate to write tickets. It's not exactly closed course. Just got to make sure they both are on the other side of you when you decide to let loose.
