I have people bitch about the possibility of a blown fork from tieing down too tight - I'd rather blow a fork than lose a bike. And - MAN but we tie them down REALLY tight in that semi. Haven't blown a fork in years - and they get tied down about every weekend...

I usualy run a strap around the front of the chock and front wheel just for that reason also.

Some of this can almost reach oil or tire threads withthe threat of blown fork seals or weather to use or not use canyon dancers

I tie down a different way now. I don't compress the forks so there's no chance of a blown fork from being too tightly tied.

I have always taken the idea that I can replace the fork seal for $20, so i just crank the front end down as hard as I possibly can and hope it wont fall over. So far i havnt blown a fork seal or dropped a bike

Nice trailer.
I'm thinking of converting a horse trailer with living quarters into a bike/atv trailer with living quarters at some point.
Much cheaper (and smaller) than a toy hauler.

I've seen some very nice converted sleeper trailers, full kitchens, fold down beds, couches and other living quarter type of stuff, you can really go all out and still have room to haul your bike

My favorite way to tie down has always been the frame sliders that convert into tie down points. If I were trailering a lot again, I would put them back on my bike. They can't be beat for tying down...as a frame slider, well that's another story.
