Fuck if they lost, Starz, that's really all the new movies they got. Amazon Prime is looking better and better.

I just got it and have liked it so far. They closed my Blockbuster so I went for it and have been happy. I might even get rid of cable. I don't watch much TV anymore anyways. And I only do streaming.
But something that is funny is my GF gets calls every now and then at her work phone from pissed off Netflix customers. And I mean pissed off as hell. I love hearing the messages.

Yup, licensing fees went up big time. Netflix got a great deal years ago before steaming was mainstream, then everyone started to do it and the MPAA started to get greedy and ask for a shit ton if money.
I i'm in the group that is getting both steaming and dvd and $16/month just isn't worth it when I can get the same amount if content elsewhere either free from services like hulu or much cheaper from red box |

i have gotten a lot of use out of the streaming, but because the selection is so dismal, i am thinking about cancelling as well. was going to look into hulu plus

I think I've watched just about everything I want that is available to me (stream only).
But the wife just decided she wanted to watch all the seasons of Charmed that she missed, so we keep it for now.

They want to get out of the disc business, thats why they dont mind losing customers that dont want to pay extra. $8 a month for streaming only is still a good deal.

only problem is their streaming selection is shrinking cause they don't want to spend the coin to get the licensing.

But like Corey said, companies like STARZ see how many people watch their content on Netflix and want a bigger piece of the pie. I bet they think they can make their own streaming service and keep all the profits, no way they go to Amazon or Hulu. A top network like HBO knows their content is valuable and wont sell it to anybody. I think the reason STARZ got into this deal was because they were at the bottom of the barrel and didnt have anything to lose.

I cancelled mine last week. And the price increase didn't even effect me. It's not worth paying another bill. $8 or not...
