I would rock the fuck out of that little Honda...

I had a 74' 100 that wasnt to far off from that. It was a sweet little 2-stroke I restored to like new streetable condition while I lived in Northern MI.

I used to get drunk and race my Dobermans around the house doing laps. It has to be some of the most fun memories I have on a bike!

She has been into jetskis for years, and has been through (and currently owns) some pretty fast jetskis. So, she's kind of a speed demon. What she doesn't understand is that any idiot can jump on her Sea Doo and hammer the throttle. A bike is a different kind of animal.

Honestly, I think it's all talk.
I think that it's kind of cute of her to have a bit of a mid-life thing going on. Hey, just because she's divorced it doesn't mean that her life should be over. And nothing wrong with her riding a Hayabusa...after she gets the training AND experience!

Or your buddy OSP can just get tagged in and turn her out for a minute...

I'm in 10000% agreement on taking the MSF with her, give her the opportunity to learn the skills necessary, and you to brush up on those same ones.

what you really need to do, is sit down with her in person if you can, and talk with her as the loving son you are, explain that a busa is just WAY too much bike for someone with little to no experience, and that you want her to live MANY MANY years more, because you love her, and aim her toward something more like a GS500F or EX500, hell, even the GSX650 or EX650R are excellent bikes to start on and learn how to ride safely on. just explain it as you love her and dont want to have to see her get hurt or be stuck at her bedside in the hospital if she wrecked, much less get that dreaded call from the police saying she got killed in an accident on that much larger and more powerful bike.

The part about caring that she doesnt get hurt is EXTREMELY important. the experience and education on motorcycling is even more important though if she's to get a bike and SAFELY ride it.

Hell, if my mom decided to get a bike, I'd be sitting there waiting for her at home with some shiny new gear for her, and a 250 rebel, along with an MSF enrollment class waiting for her.

Or at least convince her to go with a Ducati Monster or the Classic series if she were to want a "cool" bike.

Talk her into a Ducati 1098. But tell her that Inline 4s are better than V4s and that you are willing to trade bikes with her because you love her.

But take your bike to a shop and have them detune the living crap out of it (We are talking H mode).
