I walk my backwards almost every time I park it. I never try to sit and move back and I'm only 5'7 and the bike has me on my toes. Are you just not comfortable walking it places? I can push/pull my bike forward or back anywhere with no problem. I'd say if you can't push it in/out of the space it doesn't sound like it's a good place to park it...

I've heard the same. One of the guys I used to ride with broke his doing this all the time. Good to know how to do if you get in a jam, but not good to do on a regular basis.

I think I've figured out a solution. If I walk or back it out onto the sidewalk and then pull out from there I should be fine! I'm going to try it this week!

I wish I had a garage so I could park my bike at my apartment. I am going to talk to them in the next day or so about putting a storage shed beside/outback of the place.

Stand next to it...lean the gas tank on your hip with kickstand up and walk it out of the spot using the front brake to slow the roll. I have gotten pretty good at pushing/pulling my bike out of just about anything since I can't even back it up on a flat surface while on the seat. I feel I'm in much more control while standing next to it.

Kel, I didn't think I could move my Honda by standing next to it so my husband made me do it with the kickstand down back and forth on a flat surface. It's really more of a mental thing you have to get over. Once you get used to the way it feels, it's really no biggie.

Ya I do the hip balance thing but it just feels a bit awkward. I can move my bike most places when need be. I'm just nervous about the hill. I think once I get used to doing it I'll be good to go!

I've spun all three of my GSXRs that way without any "breaks"... Hell, I did it three times today. I can't think of her name right now but the girl from Las Vegas extremes showed me how to do it in Daytona back in 2000 before they were famous (with my 'Busa, no less) and I have been doing it ever since.
