hehe...almost did it again, but saved it...let off the clutch too quick, lurched, grabbed clutch and grabbed brake...realized it quickly and release pressure on the brake and eased it to a stop...it's getting easier to correct, at least! Still going slow in first and controlling speed with the clutch and no gas. I've heard slow turns are the hard part, so knocking those out right up front! Just got back in from a second round because it's VERY dark out here and I'm not comfortable enough in a meager two days to be practicing in the dark. We have a friend who is going to help out with my front-yard instruction to make sure we cover the bases. Not going out of parking lots until I get the MSF under my belt and get comfy. I'm not even getting the bike tagged nor my permit for another 2 weeks...not in a rush...I have a lot to learn.

Yes, I wore gear...lol No pics of practice, as Duch was too busy instructing You should have seen him run when I almost ditched it again! My teenager was laughing, of course...little shit.

It's great you have someone to teach you the basics before you even get to the MSF course. That will help you out A LOT. I was really focused on clutch control for the entire MSF class and I missed out some on the big picture. Good luck, and have fun.

Throw 'em on the bike and then see who's the one laughing.

Congrats girl!

Guess I never paid attention as I thought you'd been riding since I've known you!

I've been riding on the back seat! Also been riding a little dirt bike, but it's a far cry from a 400lb sportbike. Definitely harder than it looks, but easier than I thought in some respects. That first drop really drove home just how much work it is to actually be the one in control! Gives you a lot of respect not only for bikes, but those who ride. Of course, I've always respected riders...maybe cagers need to start being required to take an hour long course on a bike just so they can see what it's about...maybe it would give them some more respect to riders on the road.
