When in traffic, I never stop behind a car. I always stop left of the driver's taillight where I can see their face in the mirror. Also, if a car doesn't stop, I get, at worst a glancing blow from the car as it slams into the rear of the car in front

...or struck by the idiot in the next lane who isn't paying attention either. Either way you're still at risk. I kind of do the same but I always pull to the side with no lane next to it if there are multiple lanes.

Default copy and pasted from another site:

My mother was killed by someone else's reckless vanity. We need full prosecution for this offense. We need stricter reckless vehicular homicide legislation. Too many drivers are multi-tasking, oblivious to their reckless decisions. Too many good people are dying.
IF going 55 mph, Lora had 20 seconds (I timed it) from the time you can see the traffic light to have some recognition of the intersection & the possibility she might need to stop. Either she was completely oblivious for 20 full seconds or she made multiple reckless decisions to continue painting her nails while driving through an intersection. No skid marks. Kill a biker, go to prison!
Our family would be honored if any of my mom's fellow riders would like to attend her funeral services & support motorcycle safety/awareness.

Ahlgrims Funeral Home (Lake Zurich, IL)
Visitation - Thurs 5/7 3pm to 9pm
Funeral Service - Fri 5/8 @ 10am

If you cannot attend but would like to support our cause. Sign this petition http://www.petitiononline.com/sabiker/petition.html Please write/call the Lake County States Attorney, your local & state Representatives & Senators to express your disgust over the current state of affairs.

These things never make any difference, but I signed anyway. My thoughts are with the family.

What?

No fuckin way.

How about more common sense?

An old timer told me

I'll keep poking tmall with a stick though, because he takes me too seriously.

I'm just so very tired of motorcyclists being seen as "unsafe." That WE are the ones out there looking for someone to maim/kill us. Just REALLY tired of it. Sure, we aren't safe - but, texting while eating a donut and drinking a coke, putting on mascara and doing their nails IS safe??!?! Talk about a lack of common sense.
