Good luck man, hope you enjoy it. Ever try a Vtwin for what you're looking for? |

I"ve thought about a V twin, but I'm not a big fan of 2 cylinder bikes. I love the I4 growl and the roar of one at full bore. its like having a 454 big block with a blower.

the feeling I get is about the same, even if they dont really sound even close to the same. I dont know how to describe my love of the carbed I4 motor's sound. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but its something special that I love. you should hear a 75 CB550 runnin a 4:1 header and nothing else, its pretty sweet, even if it is loud.

The Vmax is one of the best sounding bikes made! V4s rule. V-twins are more like big blocks Tons of torqe. The in line fours are more quick reving like a small block.

Just thought everyone might like an update. I've got both bikes home, along with 8 boxes of parts, 8 large boxes no less. I learned I've got a complete lockset to one bike, no keys for the other(yet) a corbin saddle for one of them, and an undetermined number of extra parts so far. oh yeah, and a MONSTROSITY of a 630 chain on each bike. holyfuckingshit thats a BEEFY CHAIN.

530 is for modern big bikes. Old school Ninja muscle wears 630 to say dont fuck with me.
I'm in the process of rebuilding a motor right now, and its painfully obvious that 2 of 3 cranks at least are no good as whoever last rode this thing NEVER changed the oil which is clearly evidenced by the smell of burnt oil I got when I took the conrods off the crank, well the 3 that remained. 1 was well on its way to severe failure, the other two show major signs of bearing wear. thankfully I have a set of fresh rods with brand spanking new bearings on them which are going to be used. I dont want to screw up my passion and rebuild my bike 20 times. |
