The weird thing - the emails I've been getting from people that KNOW he's been home since February.
So, the people that were missing - they were on the drill floor. It was most likely a blow-out while they were capping the line. It isn't impossible, but with the sensors on the lines usually make that VERY unlikely. Those people were probably vaporized. On the last two ships my husband has worked on, there are no people on the drill-floor. They are all robotic and software. FWIW, he once worked on the Deepwater Millennium which is a sister-ship to the one that blew up. My heart goes out to the families. It's really unfortunate. But, the hope is they start paying attention. My husband was fired from a job when he wrote up people for safety violations. Yes, that's right... he wrote people up for fucking up and not doing their job - and the company told him that he hurt their feelings. Maybe now they will pay attention, at least I hope so.
