My personal deuschebagging era was in the 92-95 time frame. Wasn't a parker or a cruiser. Just your average shitbox driver looking for drivers of other shitboxes to race.
After the SCPD started cracking down in 95 I stopped going there. Anytime after that it was just outta of convenience to get to and from the south and north shore if it made sense to use DPA.

Friends of ours used to live in Deer Park and and a lot has changed. I do see that the "Bro patrols" still make stopping at that 7-11's an uncorfortable experience.
I rareley if ever have a need to travel that par tof 231 and I cant remember the last time I was down by that 7-11, maybe 03 or earlier, only because I took my futura there once. besides now it seems that the MC hatred has moved to port jeff since they want to keep all us unsightly bikers off the strip down by the ferry.

I'm sitting here trying to think of the last time I went to Port Jeff.
Annoying stop and go traffic...check
Cruiser "Loud pipes save lives...especially at every red light or stop sign" crowd....check
"Where you going where you been I heard you speeding (in bumper to bumper traffic license registration...get outta here"
Repeat 5 times.....check

Waiting 2 hours for Meh food compared to the bazillion other restaurants around LI where you can just show up and get seated without having to shout or squeeze through a packed restaurant....check.

but hey...you can look at other people's boats from a safe respectable distance.

And, uh, duh that sportbikes are in the higher % - what 21 year old can afford a brand new freakin' Harley (or would want to when they can get a brand new sportbike for a fraction of the cost)? I'd wager that if Harley's were cheaper you'd see just as many crashes in that age band with Harleys. Kids like to go fast - that ain't rocket science.
don't forget fast, cheap cars(mustang, LS1 Fbodies, etc). I would bet the same stats would apply there too.

I see that the GSXR 600 retails for $10,399 new but you can pick up a used one for half that (or better). Hell, I saw this when I walked into Oneida Suzuki the other day to pick up an oil filter:

http://www.oneidasuzuki.com/store/pa...ski-ninja.html

07 ZX6R for $6,400 with under 2,600 miles on the clock.
