Scripted and rehearsed. Something I don't feel when I watch the original.
Even though Jeremy hates motorcycles and Americans, I get the biggest kick outta that arrogant ass What really killed it for me was when Tanner was running from the cobra in the town, you could see previous black marks from rehearsals...like you catch in movies.

Lambos? Boring, they haven't come out with anything new in like 5 years.

And what they have sucks. I remember a best motoring test/race at motegi where gan-san demolished a gallardo, a merciallago, f360, 996t, and m3 in an nsx-r. At least till he overheated and had to let up finishing third. 300+hp deficit to the merciallago

I love Tanner.
Fire everyone else. No chemistry, feels forced. Blech. |

This first show has lived up (or down) to my expectations. Not a fan so far. I think it needs different hosts.

The show was lacking a lot of the rapport that makes the UK version so good, but it is also the first show. Maybe they will develop that chemistry or maybe they won't, but I didn't expect the US guys would have in a matter of weeks what it took the UK guys years to develop.
Another area where the US guys fell short was their delivery of narration and voice overs. It sounded too much like they were reading lines, something the UK presenters do a very good job at avoiding. Again, I think that is a comfort thing though. If you watch any of the earlier stuff from the 90s Clarkson wasn't near as natural as his is now. You just aren't going to find anyone in America who has his experience and sounds as natural as he does. The people from Motorweek and the Powerblock on Spike have been doing it for years and still sound unnatural and forced. Again, maybe the US Top Gear guys will get better and maybe they won't but I'm not surprised they were uncomfortable. US Top Gear needs to get better in those two areas for sure. I'll continue watching, at the very least until the episode where they trash beater cars, to see if they improve. |

I really hope they don't engage in a deliberately pro-US bias, to counteract the UK version. It would come off as so contrived...... not to mention many (if not most) US vehicles deserve to be bashed.

Show blew dog dicks. The only one remotely qualified to be on the show is Tanner Faust and he's still not good enough to be a host IMO. None of them are as charismatic or fun to watch as the UK guys. Why would they put a fat NASCAR analyst as a host? Fucking stupid. They should've gotten 3 funny racing drivers.
