Around here (not that it is right) but you have zero chance without an attorney

Check the local boards and see if anyone knows a good traffic attorney then. At 31+ it will be worth it. Don't bother with paralegals.

I'd say for that, it'd be worth it to get an attorney. Down here I work with the PD and some folks get off really cheap if they get representation on the crazy high fines like that, as in no points, much reduced fine, etc.

Canada is probably very diff then here, but my experience (which is substantial in this dept) is this. the lawyer will get more points off then you can by yourself. (if you have a good one) there are some who are lazy fucks and can't or won't do any better then you.
if you have a clean record other then this offense i wouldn't worry about it as you can get it lowered a little and your insurance won't go up for one ticket. i have had as many as 3 tickets on my record at one time and not had an increase with my main co. another thing to note is this, even though the lawyer will lower the points the insurance companies have caught on to this and now are able to see what your ticket was originally. if they are going to ding you rate wise they go by that. I was actually turned down for insurance because of a ticket i had reduced to zero points. again these are things that are only effective in Wis for sure. other places may vary. if you ever get dinged in SE Wis give me a call I have my atty on speed dial. |

For 31 plus you need a lawyer, you could be facing a loss of license. Check your local laws

Keep in mind, being that Tmall is in Canadia it is probably metric and 31+ is like 2 real American miles per hour over. Think about it. Even if he were just doing 31mph and not even speeding the Mountie would have never caught him on his horse through the snow.
