I use a spray on wash/wax stuff. Works really really well. Never washed it with soap and water, although i'm sure the previous owners did.

i saw a guy washing his bike at the hi pressure self wash place(for cars) today, i wanted to pull over, get out the car and tell him to get the fuck outta there.

imo-a bike should never get wet unless you ride it in the rain. its a precision machine, take the time to clean all the curves and crevices by hand.

Hi Pressure... NO... but I'll wash my bike with water... best believe I've got a hair drier out there blowing all the water out of all the nooks and crany's though.

You would never get to ride in TN then. The afternoons are usually like surprise thunderstorms that can't be predicted especially in summer.

Mine has seen lots of rain, it got to see it up close at the track

They were made to survive in the wet it doesn't really matter.

I never take a hose to my bike ever. But I rub it with a diaper after every ride. I try not to ever ride in the rain, but I got caught in a downpour on the new Gix on Friday. I was soaked all the way through my gear. My hands still have a purple tint from my black leather gloves bleeding on them.

Never use water, 10% chance of rain, after every ride and high pressure hose (get a rope)

It's good you folks take care of your bikes and such, but It's about the riding, the wind in your balding head, bugs on the face sheild, butterflys stuck in my oil cooler fins, replacing tires every 12k miles or 6 months going straight. Passing 2 semi 3 cars going up hill with oncoming traffic and deer crossing the fucking road.

If my bikes gets washed 3 times a year after 22k miles it's lucky.

Ride it hard and put it away wet.
