This thread is dead. Lock it down. I picked up an 06 anniversary R1.

09, 10 and 11 are the crossplane.. when i was talking to the different dealers their selling point was the fact the 09, 10 and 11 have 3 different acceleration modes - mild, medium and aggressive.. doesn't really appeal to me.. i don't really see much value in it..

Yeah 2004-06 are the same bike pretty much - the 06 has some chasis mods that make it handle a bit better but 99% is the same for the 3 years.. 07 was a new model and same as 08.. 09 was the cross plane crank shaft and continued through 11 (essentially 09-11 are the same bike).. I hear 12 is going to be another new model but not confirmed.. But seriously if I am going to spend $14k on a bike I would just get the BMW S1000RR..

Trouble with the 07/08 is they don't look different enough from the 04-06

Bigger headlights, bigger and more pronounced air intakes, bigger tail section, and I believe a different side fairing. A much better looking bike than the 04\06 imho... it was my favorite looking litre bike for years.
