Bumpity Bump.

Fast forward almost a year, and after a bunch of legal wrangling and offers/counteroffers to no resolution, I'm going to court downtown this morning for a freaking jury trial to settle this.

The good: After this is over, it will be done.

The bad: I have to sit in court for today, maybe a little of tomorrow, and hope that my *peers* are as smart as me.

I've never been involved in a jury trial or a lawsuit of any kind, so this will be interesting.

Wear something pretty, and blame it on the baby sitter.

I wanted to do jury duty when I did it. I got paid the same and reimbursed for all my gas/food. It was a good vacation from work for me. LOL

I wanted out in the worst way. Best part was I got called for a case where a motorcyclist was hit by a car, so as a PA and an avid motorcyclist I was rather biased. I even walked in with copies of cycleworld and motorcyclist to pass the time

Gov employee huh?

Last time I was called I walked in talking about jury nullification. Then got lectured by a judge for 20 minutes and threatened with contempt of court.

Yeah, I am federal too.

LOL, I almost never get called for it because I don't vote or register to vote.

I had a oxycontin drug ring case. All the big dogs pleaded quilty and some addict that let his drug dealer send him a ups box full of drugs from his Florida suppliers was the only one who pleaded innocent. We got his case and sent him to the pen.

If your job pays for the time off, why not? Beats working. AND you experience something new.
