< sarcasm >
I'm always amazed when someone, who is obviously so well behaved in the presence of police, has such a negative outcome from the encounter. < / sarcasm >

I haven't been stopped in years (so now I've jinxed myself ) back back when I used to get stopped a few times a season on my bike, I would generally get a warning. Hell, one cop who stopped me for 30 Kmh (about 20 MPH over) in a 50 Kmh (30 MPH) zone took great pains to explain to me how unreasonably quickly the limit drops from 80, to 60, to 50. We then sat around and had a half hour long talk about motorcycles, in general. And there are people on the local board who, for some unknown reason, get stopped frequently and are constantly asking for advice about how to fight their tickets. Then they start with the FTP crap, removing any doubt as to why they got the ticket; 'attitude test' failure.
