Ulu was thinking about getting me an iPad for Christmas but decided to wait until this one came out. I dig iOS, so I wouldn't mind having one. I'm not getting a 3G version, nor would I pay for a 4G version, not when I can tether from my phone. The motivation for getting one would be the 64 gigs of storage for the movies that I could watch on the screen that's much bigger than the one on my phone. I don't feel like I need one but if I got it as a gift I'd be really happy.

I just haven't understood the hype for the Ipads. Yeah yeah, I know Im a Mac girl, blah blah, and I have friends who have the iphone, the ipad, the macs, etc. I just dont get why anyone would want to carry around a larger version of a phone they already have. Smart phone FTW. We even have a kindle app these days.

The difference is, there's a limit to the type of apps you can use on a phone. A larger screen simply gives you more room to do things. Spreasheets, photo editing, publishing, etc.

But 256K, lol I guess that's why my sister's ipad took so long to re-generate our car's location on Google maps.

Also good for an airplane. There's no room for a laptop on those silly little trays anymore. Not with how close the other person's seat is.
