Sailing? Fly fishing? You know, I'm a fine one to talk what with my penchant for old razors, but he clearly takes way too much pleasure in doing things the hard way.

I know.. I know. Tying his own flies, too. If he wasn't a bit ADD, I'd think he was crazy. Part of the detail and routine seems to calm him.... but being on a boat, going down the lake, under wind power only is pretty awesome

I used to fish in Lake Delta near Rome, NY - used to snag at least one Great Northern Trout every season. Lemme tell ya, they get PISSED when you hook 'em

I think I would rather do that whole bait cast thing. Nothing like sitting back casting out and cracking an ice cold beer. Then ripping a fish in off the line.

there is something better - your buddy pays for a charter, the charter does all the work while you get shitfaced and you reel in the fish when they get one on.. then you get your filets done for like $0.25 per fish, go home, continue drinking beer and throw the fresh fish on the grill.. now your wife comes home, is so happy to have fresh fish she quits bitching about what a fucking asshole you are for taking the day off and getting drunk on a monday, she enjoys fresh fish and then you have your way with her ending the perfect day as you pass out in a drunken stupor after getting your wick wet.. now that's fishing imo..

I get bored easily. Bait casting around here is horrible.
I do like deep sea fishing the gulf. That's how I started fishing as a little kid. I am from south louisiana, so that's what I did all the time down there. Going out with my family and reeling in monsters. You never go out by yourself though, so it's always a party and not boring. You grab as many people as you can find so you can catch more fish with the limit set at 2 for red snapper and the season being so short. Bait casting around here is boring as shit and a lot of the water to do it in, I wouldn't want to eat the fish from it because of pollution. I like to fish to eat. Fly fishing in the GSMNP is something different. It's more than fishing. It's hiking mixed with ninja skills with a side of fishing. The fish are very timid and will scare easy. Half of the battle is getting into position to fish before you even cast. It's never boring in my opinion. I have had a lot of fun doing it. It even has it's own wheelie. People always ask me to do the false cast (the go back forth motion whipping the line around) and it's something that is rarely done on mountain streams. You really need to have to cast considerable distance for it to be any use.

Drewpy is like the Chuck Norris of fishing - he just looks at the water and the fish jump in his fucking boat..
