Not true. I have a State Farm policy with just my motorcycles. Never filed a claim with them, so maybe I'd have problems at that time. But I've had them since 2004 when I found an agent that would write just a MC policy. We have Erie for car and renters insurance - they stopped insurance sportbikes.

$30 for Erik's

Full coverage on both.

Could the $5000 a year be because the bike is most likely to get stolen in your area? How about your credit rating? They factor that into the rates along with your driving record.

Just got my statement in the mail
For BOTH the SV and the Buell is... $382 for the YEAR

That's $15.91/month/bike.

And I got a quote on some bigger bikes before I bought the Buell

Busa = $4400/year
GSXR1K = $3200
GSXR750 = $2300

They were considerably cheaper than any other company out there.

interesting... when I asked cause at one point I was considering selling my truck they told me I had to have a car or truck on it to keep my policy as they didn't insure bikes by themselves...

maybe it's per state

well she said last year, two brothers bought a new R1 and a new R6, both had only made one insurance payment when both were stolen at bike week

I pay 2k a year for my 2 cars and my old ninja. The ninja actually gives me a $50 a year discount, the insurance is $125 and the discount is $175. I don't even have the bike any more but it pays to keep it on the insurance for the discount. My CBR is $550 for full coverage.
