My husband had that happen to him several times this summer, one time he reached out and kicked the cage. That's why I am still not comfortable driving in the city and am so happy to see the ring road open up, then I can go around the city out to the mountains!!!

I have a really bad habit of pounding on roofs, kicking in doors, and punching off mirrors. It's definitely an attention-getter, but it's also a great way to inspire road rage, which is a bad idea when tangling with something 10+ times your size.

Old person strikes yet again.

Motorcyclist hit, killed in parking lot

Posted: Nov. 10, 2009

Raleigh, N.C. — A motorcyclist died Monday afternoon after he was knocked off his bike and run over in a west Raleigh shopping center parking lot, police said.

William Thomas McKay, 41, of Wake Forest, was driving his 2001 Yamaha motorcycle through the Ridgewood Shopping Center parking lot when he slowed to go over a speed bump and was hit from behind, according to a police report. McKay lost control of the motorcycle, and he fell off as the bike skidded on its side across the parking lot, the report states.

McKay was then run over by a 2000 BMW, which ran into a median in the parking lot before stopping, the report states. He was taken to WakeMed, where he died of his injuries.

Nancy McCall Bashford, 82, of 6321 Johnsdale Road in Raleigh, was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
