I am a toyota owner.
2002 Camry LE 4banger 5spd Bought it in 2008 with forty something thousand miles on the odometer. Why did I buy it over something more interesting? 1. Was planning on buying a motorcycle in 2009 and the purchase of a "family" sedan was the appropriate political choice considering a bunch of other factors (college expenses, wife doing the staying at home thing and other priorities\realities that where buying a GTO or Miata during the same time period of a new motorcycle just wasn't the right thing to do). 2. I wanted a family sedan (with room for tall people and car seats) equiped with a manual transmission. 3. I wanted low miles 4. I wanted something mechanically reliable and easy to work on 5. I set a cap of 10K After seeing countless cars that I wouldn't mind rocking pushing 100K+ miles on the odometer and a HUGE variety of fagomatic equiped cars I found the Camry. It met all the requirements I initially established so I bought it. Its boring but it gets the job done. All it has to do is take me a few miles to the train station\gym every day. Its a station car that will probably be hauling me around for the next 10 years. Its dull Its paid for I have more interesting vehicles in the garage. |

We already own a Mazda6 wagon. Its the "family car". Couldn't find a 5spd with low enough miles at the price I wanted within a reasonable distance.

Eletric steering does not steer the vehicle, rather it assists in the power to the steering shaft for easier or harder turning.
What can we expect from Toyota owners? As Homeslice said, they are typical non-driving mutherfuckers and I think people are just jumping on the bandwagon looking for a free lunch. Hopefully our dumb government will see it too.
