That's what I'm thinking too.
If I don't like them my friend wants to buy them from me and secretly rig them onto his sisters bicycle. He thinks she'll loop and faceplant hard.
I tried to explain the difference in motorcycle vs bicycle braking systems and that the bicycles brake lines probably won't even be able to push the pads all the way against the plastic disc but oh well.

Seems like if he wants to maim her and she's got rim brakes we can just hook up like a little peg or piece of steel that will go into the spokes when the brakes are applied. It would either destroy the wheel or fracture the shit out of her skull when the front wheel suddenly stops rotating, flinging her over the handlebars.
I don't think I'm comfortable with this anymore, this is some terrible ass karma right here. lol

These breaks require extra heat to operate? I've heard race pads work at a higher temp... that's why they don't recommend them for street... cause you don't often reach those temps

that was my concern but their little graph on their site has this key for the GFA's;


It's as good in every way as their street legal pads except for the lifetime department. Here's the street legal ones;


Some guys on another forum suggested it may be that EBC was just too lazy to get them approved for road use. I honestly can't understand the concept of too much braking power being dangerous. Unless it's dusty/wet in which case you're fucked anyway with the immense braking power of most stock brake systems on modern sportbikes.
The other idea I have is the "ZOMG IT'S ILLEGAL THEY STOP TOO FAST FOR PUBLIC USE YOU'LL DIEZORS!!!!!!" is all a marketing ploy. So powerful it's illegal kinda has a nice ring to it.

What rotors do you have?

The different composites aren't always friendly on the rotors, especially if they aren't full floating or drilled right.

Hmm..stock on an '03 gsxr 1000. Lemme google the specs real quick. Definitely not interested in damaging the rotors.

I've only ever used EBC, and only now have gone to new rotors on the 998. The 748 (which hasn't always had EBC's) has tea-cupped rotors and is inheriting the ones from the 998.

So, I've had better luck with EBC than others.
