I think the real point is that most of this wonderful shit that happened since 1910 to make our lives so much better, happened just a bit earlier, because as of late, if anything, I'd say we've done quite a bit of backsliding.

Looking this far back is just a good way to feel better about that unfortunate fact, I guess.

We are better off today then in 1910 and even 1950. The problem today is that everyone thinks they are entitled to:
1. A big house.
2. Three cars.
3. Motorcycle
4. 300 cable channels
5. I-phone
6. Healthcare

So...naturally, we are going to spend more and thus the spending more will make it harder to make ends meet. We are enslaving ourselves over too much material possessions and alot of us are not happy.

I was referring to all the pharmaceutical drugs that are pushed on people because we "need" them. Cholesterol, high blood pressure pills....
