If its currently suspended I would think not, but call your local DMV or a local insurance agent (anonymously ) and ask...
Because a co-worker mentioned she has had a suspended license for over 4 years and yet she owns a car, and drives every single day. Pisses me off to no end.

You can insure anything here, licensed or not. I had insurance on my rc51 for two years while I rode with no motorcycle endorsement.

But, that said, Why the fuck do you care what someone else does? How is it any of your business?. She's an adult, if she wants to drive without ins, its totally up to her. It really isnt affecting you in any way.

Ok that works then

funny thing was I had to retake my road test. The DMV guy asked becasue I drove so well, asked if it was a DWI, told him not it was for some unpaid tix that got out of control and had to start over. Since then only one ticket in 10 years

Meh, careful there. Small town clerical errors can result in a suspension without the person even knowing until they get pulled over. Go ahead, ask me how I know.

Oh, this girl knows it. She knows what she has to do to correct it, but refuses to pay her fine.

Not in NC.

Yes I've had my license suspended but that was when I was young and dumb so I went to Japan for a year and got a license. When I came back...my suspension was over so I got a new license.

That was over 20 years ago...now I'm a mature...responsible individual...ok I'm older.

Eh, that's just weird ... Sounds like there's more she's not telling you. Since you can go to jail for driving on a suspended license, I can't imagine KNOWINGLY doing that... Weird.

ok so I have been irresponsible in a previous life. (a couple of times LOL) back then it was possible here due to the fact if your car is financed you have to carry full coverage. I am not at all sure how it was written but yes I carried full coverage while not licensed.
I'm sure there is some fine print that says basically the car is insured but you're not.
it was many years ago so it may have changed drastically.
