If the gun was illegal, I'd say a search was in order (probable cause, more guns on premises).

If the gun was legal but discharged in an illegal area (city limits, for example), I see no reason for a search.

If the gun was legal and there are no laws against discharge, the cops should have laughed at the fools, called an ambulance and left.

If the guy who got shot was able to speak, he'd have told the cops that it was an accident. And as far as the weapon goes, I don't see any firearms charges cited in the article.

i have a feeling anytime an injury gun discharge is reported they have to check to make sure everything is as it seems. not to mention the fact that any retard who takes pot shots at mice in their own house is probably not the brightest bulb in the pack. possibly even having prior contact with cops.

I am not one to defend cops actions often but because of the shooting I can see them looking for anything else within the house.

Actually a good thing that way it isn't found out 2 years from now (about he girl) and everyone crucifies the cops for having been on the property and not having the brains to look around and find the girl. even though she was there of her own free will that situation could go very wrong very fast.
