Thinknig of picking up a 1911 when I get home for my CCW.

Is it a bitch to tear down and clean?

I've got another 2 years before I can get a pistol and my CCW. But once I can, I certainly will. Even though it is against the by-laws of our house to have one here, I will probably find a way around it.

its a great gun, i love it, never had a jam or any issues like that, its easy to clean, but its a dirty gun, that and i dont shoot the premium ammo either, that has alot to do with it too. its hefty, and thats what i love about it, went from shotting a buddys glock to my 1911 and i much more perfer mine over his

sounds like you have a more "field gun" than a sporting gun. I'm of the opinion I want that thing to load a round in the chamber every god damned time... accurate enough to hit what i need to hit 25/yr out.... Beyond that, well I should be using my longrifle anyways...

when I said details, i meant make, length, etc.

I do enjoy 1911's. they fit my hands quite well.
