I"m not a parent, but I support it. I believe kids need to know physical discipline is completely within their parent's rights and if warranted, will be used to put the little shit in his/her place.

It's taking every shred of willpower in me right now to *not* spank my nearly 3-year old. I just took her toy away (scooter.. that she decided would be a good idea to ride in the kitchen after I told her repeatedly not to), and she's lying on the floor throwing a shit fit. Someone please shoot me.

Don't stress. 2 pops on the back of the diaper should show fits aren't acceptable. Really with kids that young you don't have to hurt them to prove a point. My kid (4 in March) takes a swat as a humiliating gesture to his supreme authority and hates it even if it doesn't even leave a red mark...

As usual, everyone is boiling a whole lot of issues down to just one: spank or not.

The parents who don't spank and their kids turn out to be arses....well usually there are OTHER reasons their kids are such asshats. It does NOT boil down to whether they were spanked or not.

Oh and I'm not a parent nor do I support it. I'm a teacher and I've seen all of the spectrum. I have to enforce my rules without spanking.
