I have a windbreaker from North Face that I've had for years. The only problem with it is a burn hole from a cigar. I also have a backpack from them that I've had since highschool. Good shit, just gotta catch it on sale.

I don't own any of their stuff but it looks nice. Outdoor shit in general appears to be expensive. I have a mountain climbing bag I use for work....it holds all my tapes, battery, cables, etc....that fucker was 80 bucks.

The North Face gear is top notch. A buddy of mine worked at the downtown Seattle store when he was in college and got me sweet discounts. Tents, sleeping bags, jackets... you name it. All fantastic stuff. I wouldn't pay full retail for it now, but with the discounts I got, it was worth every penny. Like mentioned above, Cabela's stuff is equally as good but a little less money.

Cabelas is an awesome store so even if their stuff sucked, itd still be awesome just since it came from there.

There's a Cabela's about 45 minutes from me. It's an awesome store....haven't been there in a few years though.

Once upon a time The North Face was a premiere brand for heavy duty outdoors gears. But with success comes the pussification of materials and equipment. Nowadays it's not much more than a brand for the fucking yuppies to wear.

Carhartt is well known for rugged clothings for the working man. But the fucking yuppies have been buying the shit up and I'm waiting for Carhartt to become another North Face.

Dude, all of my outdoor, shooting, and camping gear comes from Army/Navy surplus stores. It's cheap, rugged, replaceable, and built for purpose. North Face is for posers.

i've got a North Face winter coat and a Columbia, cant tell much difference, they are both water/wind proof, and both very warm, but in A+F's defense, i also have one of their winter coats and it is also very warm(just doesnt have a hood or removable liner like the other two) but out of the three, i really dont like one more than the other! and they all seem to be VERY good quality stuff.

Haha. I'd be big pimping then. Especially if we keep the trend of the crappier more worn out the clothes look the more expensive. People would think I'm a millionare. I work in construction and am often digging ditches by hand with a shovel so my crap gets torn to hell.
