C'mon, you haven't had a shitty workbench before? I have, and they always work fine, but it's nice to have a dedicated specialized bench to work on.

There is a project that I'm working on where we have to do some demolition work. Inside the building there is a 10'x10' x 2" thick piece of plate with I-beams for legs that is about 36" tall. If I can get it out of the building easily, it's either going to our shop or our farm. If it's a bitch its going to the scrap yard.
At the house I just have a little bench that is some old butcher block that's like 4' x 2', in the garage. Usually it is loaded with stuff so it never sees any use.

I actually got a little farther than this, in fact other than putting a wooden face on the vice, and bolting the top down it's done. It weighs about 200 lbs but with the four wheel casters it rolls pretty easily. I'll wheel it out tommorrow and take some better pictures. I'm still deciding if I want to raise it another few inches, it's just bellow hip height.
Here it is while I was gluing the tail vice on the front. The whole table The front vice The tail vice. The block on the left can pull right out and move over and drop into any one of the other holes along the front of the table.
