If you're saying "poor", go with the switch. I think the controller is in the $70 range ( maybe $80 )

I got the switch so I could gear up, get on the bike and then turn on the gloves. Makes it easier when you go to shut down too, just reach down and rock the switch before shut off instead of finding the cord to unplug it. ( Gerbing says to start the bike then plug in and unplug then shut down to avoid added strain/draw on the battery )
