Yeah like she needs another device to fiddle with. She kept fumbling with the GPS all the way down to FL looking for POI's and such. Finally I snapped and said put the god damn thing back on the dash.

No, buying the phone with the best physical design, a good OS, and the most number of apps. I don't go around showing my phones to other people, so I could care less what they think. Besides, I'm a little unclear how something that can be purchased for only $99-299 could be regarded as an "image" product.

Anyways, how long before Verizon finally gets a GSM network so it can offer the iPhone?

You've stated in the past how a wristwatch is nothing but "image". Plenty of nice looking watches in that price range.

Two years ago it was an image product.

Now it is a "me too!" product for those that wanted the image but were too stingy two years ago.

Considering that if you have a cellphone you already know what time it is, making a wristwatch redundant......So yes, I'd say a wristwatch is much more about image than a phone is. Especially when the top watches cost $20K or more. How many phones cost that much?

Everyone is going to the same 4G network. However the base CDMA network will never change, it's too costly. They will slowly upgrade it out of existence. It will be years and years before it is all gone. As long as you don't leave a big city, this won't be an issue. However there are different frequencies even associated with GSM. So just because Verizon uses the same 4G as AT&T doesn't mean they will be compatible.

Verizon doesn't have the iPhone yet, but they are getting close to something that could be just as good from samsung.

Because anything that's popular is only popular because of the "me too" factor. I see.

My hunch is that most Apple criticism comes from people who ought to take a look in the mirror. Why? Because I'm betting the only reason they bash Apple so much is because it's THEY who care about image & attention, and are mad that their Motorola isn't giving them any. So they accuse iPhone owners of having the image problem. Basic reverse psychology.
