The XB9R was produced up until the 2009 Model Year.

The 9 motor is really one of the best motors produced by Buell. It didn't have the low end grunt of the stroked 12 motor (same bore longer stroke), but it was MUCH smoother.

The only new bikes coming with the 9 motor are the SX. The City X (XB9SX) is a fantastic commuter/urban bike. Good low end torque, smooth engine, low fuell consumption (55-60MPG).

I have three XB9SX bikes waiting. Two Red, one Blue.

You can do a big bore kit for them and get very good power and torque out of these motors.

The only proof I can find is service manuals, and they only go as far as 2007.

I honestly did think they only did a small run of them and discontinued it not long after the 12. I stand corrected.

According to my material the last XB9R model year was 2007. That's directly out of page 104 of "25 years of Buell".

I would say purple shirt guy is easier to see what is in his mind.

Buells final truckload.

I guess the shippers didn't care since they are losing their jobs.

That's sad to see no matter what bike it is.
